reading nietzsche into the evening January 3, 2010

i have late night conversations
with a teen from down south
she puts words into my mouth
and i go to bed alone

wake up, turning
wondering if i'm still in love
fully, half-in-half
or not at all

the dogs are wearing sweaters
facebook couples kiss wall-to-wall
and i check that i still have balls
by reading nietzsche into the evening

with a lamp that's almost a lady
and a chair that's almost a horse
i breath the free of the great indoors
and continue proudly proclaiming contradictions
